Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Oracle – On Prem to AWS Migration Architect for a full-time remote opportunity. The role focuses on rehosting Oracle databases from on-premises infrastructure to AWS, ensuring performance, security, and operability after cutover.

You will own end-to-end migration, define cutover sequences, and configure Oracle environments on AWS EC2, with post-go-live hypercare support and knowledge transfer to steady-state teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience with migration responsibilities.
• Proven track record migrating Oracle databases from on-prem to AWS or cloud environments.
• Experience with RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, Data Pump, and GoldenGate.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from on-prem to AWS EC2.
• Define migration approach, prerequisites, cutover sequence, and rollback plan.
• Configure Oracle environments on AWS, including network, storage, and security.
• Perform schema and data migration using RMAN, Data Pump, or GoldenGate.
• Lead mock migrations, production cutovers, and post-cutover stabilization.
• Provide hypercare support and RCA for post-migration incidents.
