Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Oracle – On Prem to AWS Migration Architect for a full-time remote opportunity. You will own end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from on-prem to AWS, focusing on rehosting to Oracle Database on Amazon EC2, with emphasis on recovery, performance, and security after cutover.

The role requires deep Oracle expertise across RAC, RMAN, Data Pump, GoldenGate, and Enterprise Manager, plus strong collaboration with application, network, and security teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience, including migration responsibilities.
• Experience migrating Oracle databases from on-prem to AWS or other cloud environments.
• Hands-on with RMAN, Data Pump, GoldenGate, and Data Guard for migrations and recovery.
• Experience with Oracle RAC, EM, and AWS monitoring tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from on-prem to AWS, rehost pattern on EC2.
• Perform discovery, assessment, sizing, and cutover planning for migrations.
• Build and configure Oracle DB environments on AWS EC2 and storage layout.
• Execute schema/data migration using RMAN, Data Pump, and related tools.
• Coordinate with application, AWS, network, security, and operations teams.
• Provide post-go-live hypercare and remediation for issues post-migration.
