Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Oracle – On Prem to AWS Migration Architect for a full-time remote opportunity. The Oracle DBA Lead will be responsible for the complete migration lifecycle, focusing on rehosting Oracle databases to AWS and ensuring performance, security, and supportability after cutover.

You will own end-to-end migrations, define migration approaches, build Oracle environments on AWS EC2, and coordinate with application, cloud, network, and security teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years Oracle DBA experience including production support and migration responsibilities.
• Experience migrating Oracle databases from on-prem to AWS or other cloud environments; AWS rehost preferred.
• Experience with RMAN, Data Pump, transportable tablespaces, Data Guard, or GoldenGate.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from on-premises to AWS, rehost to Oracle DB on EC2.
• Perform discovery of versions, editions, OS, storage, interfaces, dependencies, backups, security, and DR configurations.
• Define migration approaches, prerequisites, target sizing, outage requirements, cutover sequence, rollback, and operational handover.
• Build Oracle database environments on AWS EC2, including software installation, database creation/restore, network config, storage layout, tuning, backups, and access control.
• Coordinate with application, AWS, network, security, storage, OS, and business teams throughout migration and stabilization.
• Provide post-go-live hypercare, rapid triage, RCA, remediation, and issue resolution after migration.
