Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Oracle – On Prem to AWS Migration Architect for a full-time remote opportunity. The role focuses on rehosting Oracle databases from on-premises to AWS, ensuring operational readiness, performance, security, and recoverability after cutover.

You will own end-to-end migration activities, coordinate with application, AWS, network, and security teams, and lead mock migrations, production cutovers, and post-go-live hypercare.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience.
• Experience migrating Oracle databases to AWS or cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of RMAN, Data Pump, GoldenGate, and Oracle RAC.
• Experience with AWS EC2, EBS, VPC, and monitoring tools.
• Ability to design cutover, validation, and rollback plans.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end Oracle on-premises to AWS migrations.
• Assess versions, editions, OS, storage, interfaces, and dependencies.
• Define migration approach, prerequisites, outage requirements, and cutover.
• Configure Oracle on AWS EC2, including network and storage.
• Perform schema and data migration using RMAN, Data Pump, GoldenGate.
• Coordinate with multiple teams for stabilization and handover.
• Provide post-go-live hypercare and issue resolution.
• Create runbooks, checklists, and SOPs for migration.
