Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA Lead to guide the migration of on-prem Oracle databases to AWS, focusing on rehost to Oracle Database on EC2, while ensuring operational readiness, recoverability, performance, and security after cutover.

You will own end-to-end migration, coordinate with application, cloud, network, and security teams, and provide technical leadership during hypercare and stabilization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on Oracle DBA experience including production support and migrations.
• Experience migrating Oracle databases from on-premises to AWS or other cloud environments; hands-on AWS rehost preferred.
• Knowledge of RMAN, Data Pump, GoldenGate, transportable tablespaces, Data Guard, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from on-premises to AWS (rehost to EC2).
• Perform discovery of versions, editions, OS, storage, interfaces, dependencies, and HA/DR configurations.
• Define migration approach, prerequisites, cutover sequence, rollback, validation, and handover.
• Build/configure Oracle environments on AWS EC2, including installation, creation, listener config, storage, patching, backup, monitoring, and access controls.
• Execute schema/data migration using RMAN, Data Pump, or GoldenGate based on size and downtime tolerance.
• Plan mock migrations, production cutovers, connectivity changes, validation, rollback readiness, and post-cutover stabilization.
• Provide post-go-live hypercare and rapid triage for incidents across availability, performance, backups, and patches.
