Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Oracle DBA Lead to manage the complete migration lifecycle from on-premises to AWS, ensuring rehosting of Oracle databases with proper validation, security, and performance. The role focuses on EC2-based deployments and post-cutover stabilization.

Ideal candidates will have extensive Oracle experience across 11g–21c, RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate, and strong engagement with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth, compliant migration path.

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on Oracle DBA experience, including production support and migration responsibilities.
• Experience migrating Oracle databases from on-premises to AWS or other cloud environments; hands-on AWS rehost preferred.
• Experience with RMAN, Data Pump, GoldenGate, Data Guard, and Oracle RAC.
• Expertise with Oracle installation, patching, tuning, and data recovery.
• Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills, able to work independently through assessment, migration, cutover, and hypercare.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from on-premises to AWS EC2, with rehost pattern focus.
• Perform discovery, sizing, and assessment of versions, editions, storage, security, and dependencies.
• Configure Oracle environments on AWS including networking, storage, and security controls.
• Execute schema and data migration using RMAN, Data Pump, and GoldenGate as appropriate.
• Plan mock migrations, production cutovers, and post-cutover stabilization; document runbooks and SOPs.
• Provide limited post-go-live hypercare and rapid issue remediation across Oracle components and backups.
