Cognizant is seeking an Oracle – On Prem to AWS Migration Architect for a full time remote opportunity. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US. The Oracle DBA Lead will be responsible for the complete database migration lifecycle, from source discovery through post-migration stabilization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience with migration responsibilities.
• Experience migrating Oracle databases on-premises to AWS or cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle tools and AWS monitoring/backup considerations.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from on-premises to AWS (rehost to EC2).
• Perform discovery, assessment, prerequisites, cutover planning, and rollback design.
• Build Oracle environments on AWS EC2, including config, storage, and security.
• Execute schema/data migration using RMAN, Data Pump, transportable tablespaces, or GoldenGate.
• Plan mock migrations, production cutovers, and post-cutover stabilization.
• Provide hypercare support after go-live and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Create runbooks, validation checklists, and SOPs for migration operations.
• Lead technical tasks and transfer knowledge to steady-state teams.
