Job summary

Cognizant seeks an Oracle – On Prem to AWS Migration Architect for a full-time remote role. You will own end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from on-prem to AWS EC2, ensuring performance, security, and operability after cutover.

The role requires 8+ years of Oracle DBA experience with cloud migration expertise, including RMAN/Data Pump/GoldenGate and Oracle RAC. Strong coordination with cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience including production support and migrations.
• Strong administration experience with Oracle 11g, 12c, 18c, 19c, and 21c across Windows/Linux/Unix.
• Demonstrated experience migrating Oracle databases from on-prem to AWS or another cloud; hands-on AWS rehost preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from on-prem to AWS, primarily rehost to Oracle DB on EC2.
• Discuevery and assessment of versions, editions, OS, storage, interfaces, dependencies, backups, security, and HA/DR.
• Define migration approach per database: prerequisites, sizing, downtime, cutover, rollback, validation, and handover.
• Build and configure Oracle on AWS EC2: install, create/restore, network, storage, tuning, backups, access controls.
