Job summary

Visionworks of America is seeking a part-time Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to help ensure a great patient experience. You will prepare patients for onsite and remote examinations, run pre-exam tests, and document results in EMR, acting as a liaison between patients and optometrists.

You will assist both in-store and remote exams, explain testing steps to patients, and support scheduling and insurance preauthorizations as part of a coordinated patient journey.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office/business professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect medical history and ocular health data for EMR.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and explain preliminary tests to patients.
• Support remote eye exams including pre-testing and video conferencing.
• Coordinate with retail staff to schedule appointments and manage exam books.
• Maintain patient records and educate on contact lens care.
