Job summary

VisionWorks is seeking a Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to ensure a great patient experience by preparing patients for on-site and remote examinations and performing pre-exam tests. You will liaise between patients and Optometrists, guiding them through the initial steps of their eye care journey.

The role supports both in-store and remote exams, explains testing procedures, documents results in EMR, and coordinates with retail staff for appointments.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of related experience.
• Optical or Healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office/business professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for onsite and remote examinations.
• Assist optometrist with patient care and testing; document results in EMR.
• Explain preliminary tests to patients and guide remote exam steps.
• Coordinate with retail staff for appointments and follow-ups.
• Maintain patient records and ensure test equipment is clean and ready.
• Instruct patients on contact lens care and insertion/removal.
• Travel to other locations as needed.
