Job summary

Visionworks is seeking a part-time Clinical Specialist/Optometric Assistant to help ensure a great patient experience. You will prepare patients for onsite and remote exams and document preliminary results in EMR.

Responsibilities include assisting doctors, guiding patients through remote testing, and coordinating with retail staff to schedule follow-ups. Prior experience in optical care and strong customer service are preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience.
• Optical or healthcare background preferred.
• Medical office/business professionalism required.
• HS diploma, GED or equivalent related job experience.
• Training provided.

Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration and gather medical/ocular history.
• Assist onsite doctor with eye examinations and document results in EMR.
• Assist remote patients with remote eye exam process and document results.
• Transition patient to retail associate with doctor recommendations.
• Explain MVC plans and benefits to patients and preauthorize insurance.
• Schedule appointments and manage exam books with store guidelines.
• Maintain patient flow and respond to clinical questions.
• Instruct patients on contact lens insertion, care and handling.
