Job summary

Merck in the United States is seeking an Oncology Sales Specialist to grow the oncology market within the Arkansas territory, including Northwest and Central Arkansas and parts of Missouri. You will engage with key stakeholders, educate on oncology products, and strive to meet or exceed sales goals while traveling as needed.

Ideal candidates will have oncology field-based sales experience, a bachelor’s degree or extensive relevant experience, a valid driving license, and willingness to travel up

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of sales experience or a high school diploma with at least 10 years of equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of oncology field-based experience selling to oncology customers.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% including overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Attain or exceed the assigned sales goals for the geography.
• Collaborate with territory counterparts to ensure a seamless customer experience and build relationships.
• Communicate patient-centered rationale for Oncology products in engagements with customers.
• Understand cancer care pathways, tumor types, and corresponding treatment options.
• Analyze buying environment trends across multiple drug distribution channels.
• Review patterns for products purchased and prescribed (outpatient vs inpatient, hospital contracts, etc.).
• Develop and execute short- and long-term plans with the local team and Oncology Customer Team Leader.
• Ask insightful questions to understand customer priorities and needs for product portfolio conversations.
• Ensure consistent customer experience across divisions and share learnings with in-scope teams.
