Job summary

Merck seeks an Oncology Sales Specialist for the Charleston, SC region. This field-based role drives sales through customer engagements, stakeholder education, and strategic territory planning.

Travel, including overnight stays, is required to cover the territory and national meetings. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of sales experience (or 10 with a high school diploma) with 2+ years specifically in oncology.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of sales experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 10 years with high school diploma.
• 2+ years of oncology field-based experience selling oncology products to customers.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel ~25% including overnight.
• Reside in or near the district for Charleston, SC area.

Responsibilities

• Attain or exceed the assigned sales goals for the geography.
• Engage with customers, educate stakeholders about Oncology products, and build relationships.
• Communicate compelling patient-centered rationale for Oncology products and use approved messaging.
• Understand cancer care pathways and treatment options to inform customers.
• Analyze market trends and patterns in drug distribution channels.
• Develop short- and long-term territory plans with the Oncology Customer Team Leader.
