Job summary

Merck is seeking an Oncology Sales Specialist to drive growth in the Charleston, SC / Savannah, GA territory. This field‑based role requires travel to visit customers and participate in national meetings, with a target to exceed sales goals and educate key stakeholders on our oncology portfolio.

You will collaborate with the Oncology Customer Team Leader and Key Accounts, leveraging resources to deliver patient‑centered messaging and build trusted relationships within the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of sales experience or a high school diploma with 10 years of equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of oncology field‑based experience selling an oncology therapeutic to oncology customers.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a vehicle.
• Travel about 25% including overnight travel.
• Reside in or within a reasonable distance to the district.

Responsibilities

• Attain or exceed the assigned sales goals for the geography.
• Build business relationships and trust by meeting with key stakeholders and understanding practice structure and needs.
• Communicate a patient‑centered rationale for our oncology products in indicated uses.
• Understand the workings of the extended care team and cancer treatment pathways.
• Analyze trends in a complex buying environment across multiple drug distribution channels.
• Review patterns for products purchased and prescribed in outpatient vs inpatient settings.
• Collaborate with the local team and district manager to plan short‑ and long‑term activities.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
