Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking an Oncology Sales Specialist to grow market share in the Charleston, SC/Savannah, GA territory.

The role involves educating stakeholders, building relationships, and driving sales against defined goals while traveling to meet customers in person and attend national meetings. The candidate will work with a cross-functional Oncology Customer Team Leader and other specialists to understand practice structures and patient needs, delivering compelling, patient-centered

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of sales experience OR high school diploma with at least 10 years of equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of oncology field-based experience selling an oncology therapeutic to oncology customers.
• Valid driver's license and willing to travel ~25% including overnight travel.
• Reside in or near the district.

Responsibilities

• Attain or exceed the assigned sales goals for the geography.
• Meet with key stakeholders to understand practice structure, business model, and needs.
• Communicate patient-centered rationale for oncology products to customers.
• Understand cancer treatments, pathways, and guidelines and how they affect patients.
• Analyze trends in a complex buying environment across multiple distribution channels.
• Develop and execute short- and long-term plans with the local team and district manager.
• Ask insightful questions to understand customer priorities and engage in relevant conversations.
