Job summary

Merck is seeking an Oncology Sales Specialist to drive customer engagement, education, and sales within the Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA territory. You will partner with cross-functional teams to understand practice structures and needs, delivering patient-centered oncology solutions.

The role requires 8+ years in sales, oncology experience preferred, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel ~25%.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher required; oncology experience preferred.
2+ years of oncology field-based experience selling to oncology customers.
Willingness to travel ~25% and drive a vehicle.
Valid driver’s license and reside within reasonable distance to district.
Travel and meeting attendance at national sales meetings/industry conferences.

Responsibilities

Achieve or exceed assigned sales goals within the geography.
Understand practice structure, business model, and key influencers; build relationships and trust.
Communicate patient-centered rationale for oncology products to stakeholders.
Understand cancer biology, treatment options, and care pathways relevant to tumors.
Analyze market dynamics across channels (GPOs, wholesalers, specialty pharmacies).
Collaborate with Oncology Customer Team Leader and district manager to plan and execute short- and long-term strategies.
Engage with customers to understand priorities and tailor conversations to the product portfolio.
Ensure consistent customer experience across divisions and share learnings with in-scope teams.
