Job summary

Merck is seeking an Oncology Sales Specialist to grow our oncology portfolio by engaging with customers, educating stakeholders, and driving sales goals within your field territory. This field-based role covers the Charleston, SC / Savannah, GA region, including Augusta, GA.

Travel up to 25% and participation in national meetings are required, with flexible remote work arrangements. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree with substantial sales experience or an equivalent combo, plus 2+ years

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of sales experience OR a minimum of high school diploma with at least 10 years of equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of oncology field‑based experience selling an oncology therapeutic to oncology customers.
• Valid driver’s license and able to drive a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Attain or exceed the assigned sales goals for the geography.
• Meet with key stakeholders to understand practice structure, business model, and key influencers, while building relationships.
• Communicate patient-centered rationale for Merck Oncology products in indicated uses.
• Understand cancer pathways and treatment options and their impact on patients.
• Analyze trends in a complex buying environment and multiple distribution channels.
• Collaborate with Oncology Customer Team Leader and district manager to develop and execute plans.
• Ensure a consistent customer experience across divisions and share learnings with the in-scope customer team.
