Job summary

Merck is seeking an Oncology Customer Team Leader (District Sales Manager) to lead a Northwest district team across WA, OR, ID, MT, and WY. The role is remote with field travel to visit reports and customers, plus national meetings.

You will drive sales performance and strategic initiatives across the district. You will manage a team of Oncology Sales Representatives/Specialists, coach, and develop business plans, while collaborating with cross-functional partners to expand access to oncology

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of sales experience or 10 years in healthcare with related experience.
• Pharma/healthcare industry experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to establish relationships within customer organizations.

Responsibilities

• Hire, lead, and manage Oncology Sales professionals for their assigned district.
• Coach direct reports, oversee training, and complete people management processes for Oncology Sales professionals.
• Develop and resource their customer team to address customer needs.
• Maximize sales team's performance and help achieve/exceed sales and budget targets, increasing access to oncology products.
• Collaborate with Oncology Sales organization and cross-functional teams.
• Develop business plans for geography and implement national sales strategies.
• Communicate and coordinate with district and cross-functional teams; share best practices.
• Lead district sales meetings to inform and guide the team.
• Conduct annual and ongoing performance reviews and competency assessments for direct reports.
• Handle discipline and termination in partnership with HR.
