Merck is seeking an Oncology District Sales Manager to lead a field-based team across the Northwest district, including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. You will guide sales reps, educate key stakeholders on oncology products, and translate corporate vision into local execution.

The role emphasizes people leadership, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration, with travel 50–75% and a focus on achieving sales targets within a major pharmaceutical portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of sales experience OR a high school diploma with at least 10 years of equivalent experience, with at least 4 years in pharma/healthcare.
• Equivalent experience can be professional sales or healthcare/scientific field experience related to pharma/biotech/medical devices.
• Ability to establish relationships and networks within a customer organization.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a vehicle.
• Travel amount required: 50–75%.
• Reside within district or near a major airport to travel to the district.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsabilités

• Hire, lead, and manage Oncology Sales professionals for their assigned district.
• Coach direct reports, oversee training, and complete people management processes.
• Develop and resource their customer team to address customer needs.
• Maximize sales team performance and help achieve/exceed sales and budget targets.
• Collaborate with Oncology Sales organization and cross-functional teams.
• Develop business plans for geography and implement national sales strategies.
• Lead district sales meetings and share best practices.
• Conduct annual and ongoing performance reviews and competency assessments.
• Handle discipline and termination of employees with HR partnership.
