Job summary

Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II for field-based service across the United States. The role involves performing DOT inspections, PMs, and light-to-mid repairs on trucks and trailers in a mobile environment, with a schedule Thursday through Monday from 12 PM to 8:30 PM.

The position emphasizes independent work on CoxFleet vehicles, tool use, and strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards. A HS diploma and ASE T8 within 18 months are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related field experience.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• ASE T8 certification obtained within 18 months or sooner.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations background check and DOT physical requirement.
• Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM inspections and DOT inspections on various vehicle classes in mobile/field environments.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems; test and road-test vehicles.
• Maintain, inventory, and manage parts on the service truck; document RO findings via TRAIT app.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals on estimates and purchase orders.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
