Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic II to perform DOT and preventative maintenance inspections for trucks in a mobile/field setting from 1pm to 11pm, Wed-Sun. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and customer service in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have a HS diploma/GED with 3+ years of related experience, tool readiness, and ASE T8 certification within 18 months, plus valid DOT-eligible credentials. Growth opportunities and hands-on training are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years related experience.
• Must supply a set of hand tools.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT background and DOT physical compliance required.
• 21+ years old with valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and related truck systems.
• Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and verify repairs.
• Maintain and reconcile parts inventory and operate the service truck.
• Accurately complete DOT forms and RO documentation in a timely fashion.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals on repair estimates and RO findings.
