Job summary

Cox Automotive - USA is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and field repairs on a range of trucks and trailers. This role requires independent scheduling, client communication, and the ability to manage parts inventory from a company service truck.

Work weeks are Friday through Tuesday with 7am to 2pm shifts, and opportunities for additional compensation may exist.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience, or 5 years’ related experience.
ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
DOT pre-employment screening and DOT physical.
DOT medical card accepted if valid for 4+ months; otherwise DOT physical required.
Must be at least 21 years old with a valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field capacity.
Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, transmission, and HVAC systems and related components.
Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using handheld tools and gauges.
Road test vehicles to verify repair success and proper operation.
Manage parts inventory on the service truck and document RO details via iOS TRAIT app.
Communicate with customers to gather needs, provide status, and obtain approvals for estimates.
