Job summary

Cox Automotive - USA is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and field repairs on a range of trucks and trailers. This role requires independent scheduling, client communication, and the ability to manage parts inventory from a company service truck.

Work weeks are Friday through Tuesday with 7am to 2pm shifts, and opportunities for additional compensation may exist.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience, or 5 years’ related experience.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment screening and DOT physical.
• DOT medical card accepted if valid for 4+ months; otherwise DOT physical required.
• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field capacity.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, transmission, and HVAC systems and related components.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using handheld tools and gauges.
• Road test vehicles to verify repair success and proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory on the service truck and document RO details via iOS TRAIT app.
• Communicate with customers to gather needs, provide status, and obtain approvals for estimates.
