Job summary

SMX is seeking a Mid-Level Site Reliability Engineer to architect, automate, and operate high-performance cloud infrastructure for AI/ML platforms. This fully remote role serves as a technical SME with clients across domestic public-sector and commercial projects.

You will deploy scalable cloud architectures, implement GitOps, enforce security guardrails, and contribute to runbooks and reference architectures.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Experience delivering scalable AI/ML infrastructure.
• Experience with cloud platforms and IaC tooling.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes clusters for AI/ML workloads.
• Consult with clients as a technical SME on architectures.
• Drive automation with Terraform and GitOps with security guardrails.
• Build and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines with vulnerability scans.
• Monitor platform performance and participate in on-call rotations.
• Collaborate with security to enforce encryption and data isolation.
• Produce runbooks and reference architectures for handoffs.
