Job summary

SMX is seeking a Mid-Level Site Reliability Engineer to architect, automate, and operate high-performance cloud infrastructure for AI/ML platforms. You will bridge MLOps and DevSecOps across commercial, private, hybrid, and government clouds while serving as a customer-facing SME.

In this remote role, you will deploy scalable architectures, build resilient CI/CD pipelines, automate with Terraform and GitOps, and contribute to security, monitoring, and runbooks to support mission-critical

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of professional experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering roles.
• Ability to communicate complex infrastructure concepts to customer stakeholders.
• Strong Kubernetes and container security practices (RBAC, Pod Security, secrets management).
• Hands-on experience across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud with IaC tooling.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and maintain highly available Kubernetes clusters optimized for AI/ML workloads.
• Serve as technical SME on client engagements, translating requirements into architectures.
• Collaborate with delivery and account teams to scope and demonstrate modern AI/ML and DevSecOps architectures.
• Drive infrastructure automation using Terraform and GitOps with security guardrails from day one.
• Build and maintain resilient CI/CD pipelines with automated vulnerability scans and audit logs.
• Monitor platform performance and participate in on-call rotations for RCA and post-mortems.
• Enforce network segmentation, data isolation, and robust encryption across data pipelines.
• Produce client-ready documentation and runbooks for operations and handoffs.
