Job summary

SMX is seeking a Mid-Level Site Reliability Engineer to architect, automate, and operate cloud infrastructure for AI/ML platforms. You will bridge MLOps and DevSecOps across commercial, private, hybrid, and government clouds, delivering scalable solutions and engaging with clients as a technical SME.

This fully remote role is open to US candidates. You will own Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, security controls, and runbooks, while collaborating with engineering and security teams to ensure

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering roles.
• Proven ability to communicate complex infrastructure concepts directly to customer stakeholders and act as a technical SME.
• Strong proficiency with Kubernetes, container networking, RBAC, Pod Security, and secrets management.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and maintain highly available Kubernetes clusters across cloud environments.
• Serve as the technical SME on client engagements and communicate solutions to stakeholders.
• Scope, validate, and demonstrate modern AI/ML and DevSecOps architectures with delivery teams.
• Drive infrastructure automation using Terraform and GitOps patterns with security guardrails.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated container vulnerability scans and audit logging.
• Monitor platform performance, participate in on-call rotations, and perform root-cause analyses.
• Collaborate with security teams to enforce network segmentation, data isolation, and encryption.
