Job summary

Thanx, a leading loyalty and guest engagement platform, is seeking a Merchant Operations Specialist to configure merchant setups, manage integrations, and investigate issues. You will work closely with Support, Customer Success, Implementation, Product, and Engineering, owning a meaningful portion from day one.

You will apply data-driven analysis, leverage AI tools, and build automations to improve operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in a technical support, operations, implementation, or similar role diagnosing problems across multiple systems.
• Proven ability to find root causes, not just close tickets.
• Experience using AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT to speed up analysis, troubleshooting, or workflows.
• Ability to automate repetitive work and build monitors/lookups/workflows.
• Clear written communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with restaurant technology, POS systems, payments, or APIs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Configure merchant setups, including loyalty, rewards, app, and online ordering for new and existing merchants with high accuracy and speed.
• Connect merchant integrations to POS, ordering, and delivery partners; manage credentials and coordinate with partner teams.
• Investigate and resolve issues; take escalations, determine root cause, and report bugs with evidence.
• Monitor location health and detect integrations failing or cards not transacting.
• Manage card network enrollment (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) and troubleshoot transactions.
• Build and improve automations to turn repetitive work into scalable monitors and workflows.
• Communicate updates clearly to merchants and teammates without requiring follow-up questions.
