Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe - Float to support our primary care providers by documenting patient encounters in real time. You will join the exam room, capture history, assessment, plan, and documentation, and help ensure accurate coding with CPT/ICD-10 entries.

This full-time role requires strong medical terminology knowledge, excellent listening skills, and the ability to learn new workflows.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications, from a pre-medical degree or prior clinical experience.
• Prior clinical experience, including shadowing and/or volunteering.
• Prior scribe or transcription experience.

Responsibilities

• Joining the provider in the exam room to observe patient visits and document encounters.
• Documenting patient encounters in a structured note, including history of present illness, assessment, plan, and physical exam.
• Assigning CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Preparing After Visit Summaries.
• Consulting with provider to ensure accurate documentation.
