The job involves determining denials, preparing documentation, and following up to payment, with strict adherence to company policies. We require at least 2 years in healthcare revenue cycle, strong communication skills, and knowledge of HIPAA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years in a healthcare revenue cycle environment with a concentration in insurance billing and collections.
• Advanced knowledge of healthcare insurance environments including managed care, governmental and commercial carriers and reimbursement methodologies.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive inbound and make outbound calls regarding insurance matters and document all attempts on the collection system.
• Research and analyze accounts using records and historical data to resolve payment obstacles.
• Verify insurance benefits across multiple mediums.
• Review claims and maintain up-to-date account information.
• Contact managed care, governmental and commercial carriers to affect payment.
• Identify payor trends and escalate issues as needed.
• Answer inquiries promptly and resolve consumer concerns.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and relevant regulations.
• Maintain productivity standards and performance.
