Qualifications

• Knowledge of managed care, government and commercial payers.
• Awareness of common medical coding concepts and terminology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound/outbound calls on insurance matters and document attempts on the collection system.
• Research and analyze accounts using records and data to resolve payment obstacles.
• Verify benefits through insurer portals and websites to confirm coverage.
• Follow up on claims until payment or recourse exhaustion, updating records.
• Communicate with managed care and carriers to effect payment on claims.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and relevant regulations in all activities.
