Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a healthcare revenue cycle with insurance billing and collections.
• Advanced knowledge of healthcare insurance environment incl. managed care and carriers.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• HIPAA and related regulations knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Receive inbound and outbound calls regarding insurance matters and document attempts on the collection system.
• Research and analyze accounts to resolve obstacles to payment using records and data.
• Verify insurance benefits through multiple sources to confirm coverage.
• Review claims and update accounts to reflect current information and productivity standards.
• Contact managed care, governmental and commercial carriers to affect payment.
• Identify payor trends and escalate issues to appropriate personnel.
