Qualifications

• Requires 2+ years in a healthcare revenue cycle environment focusing on insurance billing and collections.
• Advanced knowledge of managed care, governmental, and commercial insurers and reimbursement methods.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and basic anatomy.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound/outbound calls regarding insurance issues and document efforts in the collection system.
• Research and analyze accounts using records and data to resolve payment obstacles.
• Verify insurance benefits via calls and websites to confirm coverage.
• Maintain current information and productivity standards in follow-up on claims.
• Communicate with managed care, governmental and commercial carriers to move payments.
• Identify payor trends and escalate issues to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to consumer inquiries and address concerns clearly and accurately.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and related regulations in all activities.
