Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in healthcare revenue cycle with insurance billing and collections.
• Advanced knowledge of healthcare insurance environment including managed care and government/commercial carriers.
• Understanding of coding requirements and ability to identify need for code amendments to creditor clients.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and related regulations in the collection industry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work from home with a private workspace and reliable internet.

Responsibilities

• Receive inbound and make outbound calls regarding insurance matters with documentation on the system.
• Research accounts by gathering records and analyzing data to resolve payment obstacles.
• Verify insurance benefits via various sources.
• Follow up on claims to ensure payment or progression; maintain current information.
• Contact managed care, governmental and commercial carriers to affect payment on claims.
• Identify payor trends and escalate issues as needed.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and other regulations relevant to collections.
• Meet productivity standards and maintain consistent performance.
