Job summary

Signature Performance is seeking a Medical Coder for a remote, nationwide role focused on accurate E&M coding for surgery and anesthesia encounters. You will review medical records, assign diagnoses and procedures, and ensure compliance with coding guidelines to support proper reimbursement.

The role requires at least 2 years of medical coding experience, proficiency with EHR systems, and AHIMA or AAPC certifications such as RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, or CPC.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Coding experience.
• Experience with Professional Fee Coding.
• Experience with EHR systems.
• AHIMA or AAPC certifications accepted: RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC.

Responsibilities

• Assign principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures from documentation.
• Review records to accurately assign codes and determine diagnoses/procedures.
• Ensure correct code selection following coding guidelines and regulations.
• Guarantee proper DRG/APC/payment tier assignments for reimbursement.
• Review coding for accuracy before submission to billing.
• Abstract required data and correct errors in the database.
• Identify incomplete documentation and generate physician queries.
• Meet coding quality and quantity expectations.
