Job summary

Datavant, the data collaboration platform for healthcare, is seeking experienced outpatient coders for a fully remote role with a flexible schedule. You will review medical records, assign diagnoses and procedures, and ensure accurate coding for hospital reporting.

The ideal candidate has AHIMA (RHIA/RHIT/CCS) or AAPC (CPC, CPC-H, COC, CIC or CRC) credentials, 2+ years of hospital coding experience, and strong written/verbal communication with excellent time management in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credentialed outpatient coder with hospital experience.
• 2+ years of hospital coding experience in a coding role.
• Proficiency with Same Day Surgery, Observation, Injections/Infusions, E/M levels.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign and sequence codes based on documentation.
• Abstract and enter coded data for hospital reporting requirements.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% APC accuracy; meet productivity standards.
• Communicate coding issues for follow-up and resolution.
• Track continuing education credits to maintain credentials.
