Job summary

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in Healthcare/Medical - Medical Coder.
• Experience in ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• RHIT, RHIA and/or CCS AHIMA approved.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10 diagnosis and CPT codes to IP and/or OP accounts.
• Determine appropriate sequencing of codes based on coding guidelines.
• Identify insufficient/incomplete documentation and solicit physician queries.
• Collaborate with CDI auditors to obtain documentation supporting appropriate reimbursement.
• Communicate with business office and monitor edits to resolve coding issues.
• Serve as a resource to hospital personnel regarding coding.
• Take an active role in self-development.
• Other duties as needed.
