Job summary

Pena4 Inc is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for a 100% remote role. The coder will handle IP PCS coding for inpatient and outpatient accounts and work across multiple systems. An immediate start is expected, with a coding assessment as part of the process.

Required qualifications include at least 5 years of IP PCS coding experience, a CCS certificate, and proficiency with Cerner, PowerChart, 3M and EPIC. This is a full-time daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of inpatient PCS coding experience required.
• Excellent knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-PCS coding systems.
• CCS certificate is required and must be current.

Responsibilities

• Examine the complete medical record to determine principal and secondary diagnoses, procedures, and complications.
• Accurately sequence diagnoses and procedures and maintain high accuracy.
• Strive to obtain optimal DRG assignments with system assistance.
• Demonstrate consistent performance and balance productivity with quality.
• Reach out when more information is needed to ensure accurate coding.
• Keep current on coding guidelines and share updates with the team.
