Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Mainframe Systems Programmer to provide installation, upgrade, testing, configuration, and implementation support for ISV software on the z/OS platform. The role includes on-call support, incident resolution, and collaboration with vendors and teammates.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of z/OS, SMP/E, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JCL, and USS, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience within a mainframe environment in a large enterprise
• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experience
• Knowledge of z/OS, z/OS installation and maintenance including SMP/E
• Strong knowledge of TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JCL
• Strong knowledge of Unix System Services (USS) and file system management and security
• Ability to perform skill set of a Mainframe System Programmer
• Ability to perform moderately complex ISV installations
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
• Stress resistance in major incidents or emergencies
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Customer service skills at management level
• Initiative and good learning abilities

Responsibilities

• Install, upgrade, test, configure, and implement ISV software
• Provide on-call support and incident resolution
• Research and evaluate new software
• Communicate with vendors and participate in technical projects
• Support z/OS components, tape management, security, and monitoring systems
• Work with TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JCL, and USS
• Plan and implement z/OS changes and configurations
• Maintain documentation and respond to incidents promptly
• Collaborate effectively with team members and other areas
