Job summary

Ensono in the United States is seeking a seasoned Mainframe Systems Programmer focused on CICS to provide premium software support for our mainframe clients.

The role delivers primary support for CICS TS and OEM products, with 24x7 availability, cross-time-zone coordination, and involvement in migrations, DR planning, and OS upgrade activities. A strong team-player mindset and independent work style are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years on the zSeries mainframe with hands-on CICS TS and OEM product support.
• Thorough knowledge of CICS TS capabilities, configuration and tailoring.
• Strong experience with IBM SMP/E.
• Strong analytical skills for CICS TS concepts and performance.
• Experience monitoring CICS TS regions performance.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Team player who can work independently.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill CSOs for mainframe z/OS customers related to CICS TS.
• Provide primary support for CICS TS and OEM products.
• Provide 24x7x365 support across multiple time zones.
• Follow procedures for installing OEM software per Ensono standards.
• Prepare customer partitions for annual OS upgrades via a proactive checklist.
• Support customer migrations related to CICS TS and OEM products.
• Assist the project manager in migrating new customers and removing blockers.
• Collaborate with Disaster Recovery Services for DR plans.
• Adhere to ITSM change control procedures and schedules.
• Implement vendor product fixes and upgrades to z/OS products.
