Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Mainframe Systems Programmer specialized in CICS to provide premium support for z/OS environments. You will handle CSOs, manage incidents, and work across time zones to ensure reliable CICS operations and OEM product maintenance.

This role requires hands-on experience with CICS TS, SMP/E, and mainframe tooling, with the ability to coordinate migrations and participate in disaster recovery planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years on zSeries mainframe with CICS TS and OEM products.
• Thorough knowledge of CICS TS capabilities and OEM product installation/tailoring.
• Strong knowledge of IBM SMP/E.
• Strong analytical skills in CICS TS concepts and configuration.
• Experience with monitoring tools for CICS TS regions.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Ability to multi-task under deadlines and high pressure.
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentations).
• Team oriented and capable of working independently.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill customer service orders (CSOs) for mainframe z/OS customers related to CICS TS and OEM products.
• Provide primary support for reported problems related to CICS TS and OEM products.
• Provide 24x7x365 support across multiple time zones.
• Follow procedures for installing OEM software products per Ensono standards.
• Collaborate with other towers to prepare customer partitions for annual OS upgrade via a proactive checklist.
• Support customer migrations related to CICS TS and OEM products.
• Assist project managers with migrations to address technical hurdles and meet dates.
• Support disaster recovery efforts with DR plans.
• Adhere to ITSM change control procedures and implement fixes as needed.
• Upgrade, maintain, and enhance z/OS products as required.
