Vultr is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to design, administer, and optimize Linux-based infrastructure for a global customer base. You will work across systems, applications, and networking to maintain secure, scalable environments and contribute to data center deployments.

You will collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement upgrades and migrations, and develop automation to reduce manual effort while ensuring security and reliability across global data centers.

Qualifikationen

• Strong proficiency administering Linux systems (CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu).
• Experience applying systems-level troubleshooting and analysis to resolve non-routine technical issues.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or similar.
• Experience with virtualization, networking, or software development is a plus.
• Hands-on experience configuring and supporting: Web servers, Databases and caching solutions, Firewalls.
• Understanding of: Core Linux utilities and system tooling; Server and application architecture, including security hardening; Distributed storage (Ceph); Virtualization technologies; Load balancing; Core networking concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.

• Design, configure, and implement Linux system upgrades, enhancements, and infrastructure changes to support scalability and reliability.
• Administer and maintain Linux servers and services, diagnosing performance, stability, or security issues.
• Serve as technical escalation point for Linux-related issues and remediation strategies.
• Partner with engineering and operations teams to design and support new data center deployments.
• Perform application and system migrations, evaluating dependencies and risks.
• Monitor system performance and security posture and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain automation, scripts, and tooling to improve efficiency.
• Produce and maintain documentation, diagrams, and standards for consistent administration.
