Job summary

Vultr is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to design, administer, and optimize Linux-based infrastructure supporting a global customer base and data center operations. The ideal candidate is technically driven, detail-oriented, and capable of independent judgment diagnosing complex issues and scaling solutions.

You will work across systems, applications, and networking to maintain secure, reliable environments, contribute to upgrades, and support platform growth.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency administering Linux systems (CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu).
• Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing non-routine issues.
• Scripting experience with Bash, Python, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement Linux upgrades and infrastructure changes.
• Administer and maintain Linux servers and services; diagnose issues.
• Serve as escalation point for Linux-related issues and remediation.
• Collaborate with teams to support data center deployments and readiness.
• Perform migrations; evaluate dependencies, risks, and execution approaches.
• Monitor performance and security; implement corrective actions for compliance.
• Develop automation, scripts, and tooling to improve efficiency.
• Maintain documentation and diagrams for operating standards.
• Coordinate across teams to align with reliability and scalability goals.
