Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Linux System Administrator to support the Sea Based X-Band Radar program. The role is onboard an ocean-going vessel with long rotations and extended home leaves. You will maintain the radar LAN, hardware, and software, and ensure system security.

The position requires living at sea, passing a mariner physical, and collaborating with mission ops and engineers. Security clearance is mandatory, with competitive benefits and compensation.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with UNIX and scripting is a plus.
• VMware vSphere, NetBackup, and Cisco IOS experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of Windows Server and Active Directory is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work aboard the vessel for three 70-day rotations per year with extended home leaves.
• Evaluate, install, and support the radar's LAN hardware and software.
• Maintain system hardware/software interconnection and security settings.
• Archive and transfer data from the vessel and perform config management.
• Support mission operations staff in collaboration with engineers.
