Job summary

Cytiva, a Danaher operating company, seeks a Support Scientist I to provide superior scientific support for Cytiva products during the discovery journey. This remote role reports to the Senior Manager, Scientific Support and is situated in Marlborough, MA with travel as needed.

Responsibilities include pre- and post-sale technical support via phone, webchat, and email, product training, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Cytiva products and literature.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Bachelors required, Masters/PhD preferred) in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering or related field or the equivalent work experience providing necessary knowledge and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
• Requires conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures in chromatography sciences.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years laboratory experience with Cytiva (GE Healthcare) Life Sciences equipment for Chromatography (AKTA). Working knowledge of the AKTA instrument, Unicorn software, chromatography resins and purification methods.
• Travel requirements: 5% travel to Marlborough, MA; Monthly local travel along with regional colleagues

Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-sale technical assistance, troubleshooting and product recommendations to both internal and external customers via phone, webchat, and email.
• Participate in product training and activities to develop your knowledge. Maintain an up-to-date basic knowledge of all required company products, services, and their associated support literature.
• Become familiar with standard work regarding maintaining accurate, complete, and up-to-date information on all customer inquiries while prioritizing and processing these in an orderly and consistent manner. Follow all appropriate regulations and processes for customer queries classified as complaints.
• Give presentations/trainings remotely or face-to-face to customers or colleagues, as necessary. Participate in activities such as developing and delivering technical training, reviewing product literature, field and lab work, trade shows and system installations.
• Identify potential opportunities to convert technical inquiries into new or developed sales possibilities (e.g. lead generation, up-and cross-selling).
