Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a hands-on Lead Software Engineer to join our Corporate Credit Card delivery team. This remote role supports multiple markets across the United States and focuses on building a new platform, with automated testing and enterprise integration.

You will lead SCRUM teams, guide architecture, and mentor developers in a large enterprise banking environment. Strong Java 11+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Docker/Kubernetes experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in software development.
• 6+ years of software development experience or 10 years with HS diploma path.
• Proven ability to lead SCRUM teams and mentor developers.
• Enterprise scale system design experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop technical solutions meeting functionality, performance, and reliability goals.
• Lead multiple tech leads and SCRUM teams within the domain.
• Drive domain-wide improvements in quality, speed, and throughput.
• Maintain and support on-premise and cloud-based applications across multiple services.
• Coordinate debugging, data and configuration issue resolution, and root-cause analysis.
• Promote best practices, standards, and secure coding practices.
• Develop real-time and file-based integrations and optimize DB processing.
• Foster a strong developer experience and ship maintainable code.
