Job summary

Envestnet is seeking a Lead Engineer to drive scalable, secure platforms for wealth management and financial data services. You will design, develop, and oversee AI-enabled reporting solutions across cloud infrastructure, RESTful APIs, and event-driven architectures.

You’ll lead architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product and data science teams to deliver high-impact features with strong reliability and observability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field required; master’s degree preferred.
• Strong technical background with .NET, xUnit, RESTful APIs, and Apigee.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Redis, and ElastiCache.
• Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, ELB, ASG, API Gateway, Lambda, RDS, EKS, CloudWatch, SQS).
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform; DevOps, agile, Scrum, TDD.
• 2+ years designing, delivering, or integrating production-grade AI/ML systems and LLM-based apps.
• Hands-on Python-based AI/ML support, reliability, scalability, production readiness.
• Knowledge of AI cost control, governance, LLM patterns, memory/stateful agents.
• Event-driven architectures, Kafka or asynchronous messaging in cloud infra; observability.
• Ability to lead architectural decisions, conduct code reviews, and communicate trade-offs.

• Leads incident response and root cause analysis for critical issues.
• Influences roadmap planning through technical insight and feasibility analysis.
• Partners with DevOps/SRE to improve system reliability, deployment automation, and observability.
• Designs and maintains CI/CD pipelines for owned services.
• Implements infrastructure-aware design decisions (scalability, failover, cost).
• Leads the design and delivery of scalable reporting solutions using Java or Python, cloud, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, SQL/NoSQL.
