Job summary

Qualus Corporation is seeking a Lead Relay Field Technician to lead and execute commissioning, calibration, and maintenance of protective relays and related equipment for critical power systems. You will oversee field activities, interpret wiring diagrams, and ensure safe, reliable operation of substations and SCADA environments.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive field experience, and proficiency with test equipment and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of field experience in commissioning, panel and equipment checkout, relay calibration, testing and repairing substation relaying and control schemes.
• Experience in substation protection, SCADA, design, construction, commissioning or integration-automation environments is desirable.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and operate test equipment and software.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning and resource scheduling with team leadership to prevent service interruptions.
• Interpret substation drawings and develop isolation plans and functional guidelines.
• Develop procedures and test plans for maintenance and construction activities.
• Perform relay testing, calibration, trip testing, and verification of alarms and function switches.
• Troubleshoot and repair substation relaying and control equipment; commission new substations and power equipment.
• Provide technical support and mentorship to junior field service personnel; act as subject matter expert.
