Job summary

Aptive Resources is seeking a Lead Medical Record Technician – Coder to supervise a 14-person coding team supporting the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System in Cleveland, OH. The role oversees inpatient and outpatient coding productivity, accuracy, and compliance using Oracle Health and Solventum CRS.

You will coordinate daily workflows, mentor coders, and ensure timely closure of queries and claims edits, with a target of 95% accuracy and 5-day initial coding windows.

Qualifications

• Active credential: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P or CPC and current at hire.
• At least 2 years of continuous coding experience at a VA hospital or equivalent.
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS and E/M across settings.
• Experience with Oracle Health (Cerner) coding workflows.
• U.S. citizenship and strong written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Carry a coding workload in inpatient or outpatient while leading coders.
• Coordinate daily team workflow and balance workloads.
• Serve as technical resource for coding questions and guidelines.
• Ensure ≥95% accuracy and 5-day initial coding timelines.
• Perform internal quality reviews and provide feedback.
• Guide queries and resolve edits with timely closure.
