Job summary

Aptive Resources is hiring a Supervisory Coder to lead a 14-person coding team supporting the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System. This remote, U.S.-based position operates via VA VPN and uses Oracle Health with the Solventum CRS encoder.

The supervisor will drive productivity, accuracy, and compliance across inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory surgery coding, coordinating with revenue cycle and HIM leadership to meet VA standards.

Qualifications

• Active credential: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P or CPC and current renewal.
• VA medical center coding experience or equivalent large tertiary/teaching hospital.
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT/HCPCS and E/M across settings.
• Ability to pass VA background and privacy training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise coding staff day-to-day and manage workflow, performance and leaves.
• Ensure ≥95% accuracy in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT/HCPCS and E/M coding.
• Review audits, identify error trends, and provide education to staff.
• Resolve claim edits and provider queries; ensure compliance with guidelines.
• Prepare monthly quality and productivity reports and corrective actions.
