Job summary

Fidelity Partners seeks a Supervisory Inpatient/Outpatient MRT Coder for the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System in Cleveland, OH. This full-time contractor role oversees coding staff for inpatient, outpatient, professional, and ambulatory-surgery coding, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and compliance.

The ideal candidate has AHIMA/AAPC credentials and 2+ years VA-level coding experience, with proficiency in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT/HCPCS, and E/M coding; remote work is available via VA VPN.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and fluency in English.
• Current AHIMA or AAPC credential (RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CCS-P/CPC/COC/CIC).
• At least 2 years of professional coding experience in VA Level 1A or equivalent.
• Proficiency with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS, E/M coding.
• Familiarity with Oracle Health workflows; Solventum CRS, VistA, CPRS, VIRR preferred/required.
• Meet VA productivity, timeliness, data-security, quality, and accuracy requirements.
• Supervisory experience managing coding personnel.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inpatient, outpatient, professional, ambulatory-surgery coding and lead coding staff.
• Establish, monitor, and report productivity, accuracy, timeliness, quality, and performance.
• Coordinate schedules, leave, training, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
• Monitor coding work queues, claims, reports, audits, denials, and compliance issues.
• Provide education and technical direction on coding regulations and VA procedures.
• Coordinate with VA leadership on revenue-cycle, quality, staffing, and priorities.
• Develop and implement corrective actions and process improvements when needed.
• Use Oracle Health, Solventum CRS, CPRS, VistA, VIRR and other VA systems as required.
• Protect patient information and ensure HIPAA/compliance.
