Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Lead, Systems Engineering to act as the primary Link 22 SME. You will architect, configure, and test Link 22 data links for airborne and maritime platforms, coordinating with multi‑domain networks and stakeholders.

The role requires deep experience with Link 22, NATO STANAG standards, and a strong systems engineering background. Remote work is offered with travel across program phases, and a security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Active US Secret clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering technology and minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; software engineer also considered with relevant experience.
• Graduate degree with at least 7 years prior related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of core Systems Engineering requirements development, decomposition, traceability, verification, and validation.
• Prior experience creating tactical datalink (TDL) scenarios in support of software development, integration, and testing phases.
• Proven problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities in complex technical environments.
• Hands‑on experience integrating and configuring Link 22 tactical data link systems for airborne or ground‑based applications.
• Working knowledge of Link 22 network architecture, NPG design, time slot assignment, and STANAG 5522 message standards.
• Experience integrating with modernized software defined V/UHF software defined radio systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Link 22 SME on architecture, data link design, and configurations.
• Integrate Link 22 with airborne and maritime platforms; ensure interoperability.
• Design Link 22 data flows across multi‑node networks and time slot management.
• Develop exportable Link 22 configurations across programs and customers.
• Plan and execute Link 22 interoperability testing in lab and field environments.
• Prepare presentations explaining Link 22 architecture to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Develop and execute software and system test plans with the team.
• Work in an agile engineering environment.
